Buttoning up my button-downs

Posted by Chris at 12:00 pm

Hello my sweet little buttons,

I am most positive that you are already fully aware of my love for button-down shirts.  (Case in point: here and here.)  My closet is a home for at least 10 of these guys.  Somebody needs to talk me out of acquiring more!

Well, bust my buttons!  I've recently recruited yet one more into my team:  Chambray Dolman Sleeve Top from ADAM by Adam Lippes.

Source:  Style.com

This top first caught my eye when I was browsing the ADAM Spring 2010 collection on Style one fateful day a few months ago.  I saved this very picture on my iPhone as inspiration and thought nothing of it thereafter.  Needless to say, when I unexpectedly bumped into this wonderful creation in person, I was floored because I recognized it immediately.  Yup, pretty darn sure the universe wanted me to have it.  While it is a button-down shirt, the sleeves and cut are unlike anything else of the sort in my wardrobe.  I love how it is relaxed but structured at the same time.

I tried to style it the same way as it was worn on the runway.  I don't own slouchy white pants, so I did a skinny white jean.  I can't wait to wear it in different ways. :)

Pardon the red light from the camera remote control..

Jeans: H&M
Chain: Aldo

  6. I’m so inspired by your love of button down shirts. I really like this one by Adam – definitely because of the cut and sleeves. It’s a great sophisticated version of the trendy chambray shirts that are so popular right now.

  7. OMG, I’m totally with you – button-down shirts are so addictive! Love how you’re wearing your new ADAM shirt! Isn’t Adam Lippes fantastic? I just bought my first ADAM piece – a cropped blazer. Did you pick your shirt up at the Bay?

  9. Great button down shirt! I love how we can dress up/down button down shirts. Definitely a staple in every woman’s closet! ;)

Re: my post of F21 knock-off shoes. God, I’m not planning on buying any of them ;) The wedges and the black heels are so poorly made, you can even tell just by looking at the photos. And the clogs? I’m not a fan of clogs (except for Miu Miu suede&wooden clogs, which I think can pass as sandals with stacked heels! hahaha..) I can kiss F21 shoes goodbye :p
